Design and fabrication of indigenous 3 D printer

Manufacturing is expensive and most important task in the development of products. Traditional manufacturing processes are expensive and require enormous amount of configuration. Time and labor required for the fabrication is also high. Apparatus is also expensive and only few can afford it. So, for rapid prototyping 3 D printing, is the best solution. Even for complex shapes no pre -configuration or molds are required. 3D printers work on the principle of additive manufacturing.Fused Deposition Modeling is the most common type of Additive Manufacturing technique used in commercial 3D printers. This process is basically the same as squeezing ketchup out of a plastic bottle.Molten plastic is built up in layers, which solidify and bond together to form the 3D object. The plastic used is a thermosetting material which can be melted and then given a specific shape. 3 D printers are not readily available in every market. This makes 3 D printing inaccessible in countries like Pakistan, due to the cost of importing 3 D printers.The design will use locally available parts wherever possible, in order to keep costs to a minimum.
